There are several things that I enjoy in life. The most important thing is spending time with my family. We love to travel and one of my favorite things to do is cruise. We’ve been on several and the only bad part is when they end. Now I’m pretty big into fitness, which makes it difficult to travel because of the discipline involved. I train just about six days a week and eat calculated macronutrients every 3 hours, so traveling really makes it difficult. One of the many benefits of cruising is the onboard chef. I know what you guys are saying there is so much food but that’s where the discipline comes in. Most ships have several kitchens with different themes so you don’t get bored with the food. I like to think of them as my personal chefs.
With the proper guidance you can enjoy many different healthy types of food that fit in your daily allowance of macronutrients. Now here’s the fun part. On the ship you’ll also find the onboard weight room, abundance of cardio equipment, on ship track, rock wall, multiple pools and outdoor sports area. Once you burn the necessary fat you can occasionally enjoy that dessert bar that was calling your name.
Most ships also have on site child care that will give you the freedom to do things that are difficult with children. They always have trained staff and excellent programs to keep your kids busy and happy. Another awesome benefit is the adult area where no kids are allowed. That may sound a little mean but trust me when I tell you the peace and quite is well worth it. Another thing I love about cruising is the spa. You might be thinking that spa’s are typically for woman, but after a long day getting a massage and treated to the rainforest shower or eucalyptus room with some fresh fruit and lemon water you’ll change your mind.
After a long day the cruise lines will typically have several shows that are pretty amazing. I’m a fan of comedy so that’s normally where you’ll find me. They also have “kid friendly ” shows so make sure you check which show your going to before you take the kiddos. The talent at these shows is amazing and usually brought in, but the crew are also very involved. They are pretty fantastic.
If comedy is not you thing they have a lot more entertainment and something for everyone. There really are so many things we enjoy about cruising. I just wanted to highlight a few that are at the top of my list. There will definitely be more to come.
